Transit Maps

Designing and improving the world of transit maps - as a fun side project.
One of my latest maps of the Copenhagen S-train, gained a lot of attention from DSB and others. I had the opportunity to consult with the designer responsible for the current transit map for the S-train, Metro, Local- and Regional trains. Approach
The approach was like every other design process. I had a problem to solve. The problem was: poor navigation and ease of use for the user. That's my main issue when I decide to redesign a transit map.
I wanted to solve the issues that I saw the Copenhagen S-train map had, be redesigning the map and improving it, but still being true to many of the design principles that make the Copenhagen S-train map recognizable.
The work was very research heavy and I spend a lot of time analyzing a lot of other transit maps to find other ways of solve the problem.
